Successful of Employee Recognition
A recognition program is only considered successful when it delivers on the goals set for the program. It is not a short term strategy – results will be seen within three months but real commercial success comes when recognition is an integral part of the corporate culture and it is systematic over many years.
By incorporating recognition into a workplace there will be small incremental shifts in behaviour – over time these will produce significant commercial results. It is important that programs are regularly reviewed and the outcomes assessed. A good recognition program will pay for itself in increased productivity, reduced absenteeism, increased retention and engagement whilst aligning people to the needs and priorities of the organisation. Motivated and driven employees produce better results and are more creative and focussed. They believe and are invested in the work they do – they have a sense of purpose.
